Two runs in 8th lift Tides on the road

The Norfolk Tides rallied for two runs in the eighth inning Saturday night for a 3-2 victory over the Gwinnett Bravest.

Jeff Fiorentino opened the eighth with a single to center. After Brandon Snyder reached on a throwing error by Gwinnett pitcher Juan Perez, Michael Aubrey singled, scoring Fiorentino. Melvin Dorta grounded out before Snyder scored on Justin Turner's sacrifice fly.

Gwinnett took a 1-0 lead in the second, but Norfolk's Robby Hammock tied it with a solo homer in the top of the fifth. Gwinnett went up 2-1 in the bottom of the inning on a walk, a single and a sacrifice fly.

Chris Waters (7-3) pitched two scoreless innings for the win.
