Virginia Beach woman dies in Delaware crash

ST. GEORGES, Del.

Ashley Campbell of Virginia Beach died in a fiery crash on the Roth Bridge, Delaware State Police said.

Campbell, 21, died Sunday when the van she was trapped in caught fire and no one could rescue her, police said.

Five other people were injured. A 21-year-old man from Virginia Beach was driving the van when a sudden mechanical failure forced it to slow down on the bridge.

A 51-year-old Dover man was driving a tractor-trailer behind Turner and couldn't stop. He hit the van and both vehicles caught fire. 

No charges have yet been filed.
