As we celebrate our country’s independence this weekend, you can expect changes in the weather. Mostly to partly sunny skies and seasonable temperatures will be the story Saturday. Isolated to scattered showers and storms are likely Sunday.

Many will turn their eyes skyward Saturday night, hoping to enjoy fireworks. There may be a few showers or possibly a storm moving in overnight Saturday into early Sunday. The chances for showers go up after most of the fireworks displays are over. Keep your fingers crossed!

If your weekend celebrations include some time at the beach, the UV index Saturday is 10. The surf height near Virginia Beach is expected to average about 2 feet. Water temperatures are ranging from 74 degrees to 78 degrees.

Have a happy and safe Fourth of July!
