Another poll shows McDonnell up
Republican Bob McDonnell holds a 9-point lead (47-38) over Democrat Creigh Deeds in the race for governor, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll released today.
That survey is the fourth released in the span of about two weeks that shows the GOP candidate leading his rival, though the Rasmussen margin is slimmer than that of two of the other three polls.
A Public Policy Polling analysis put McDonnell ahead by 14 points (51-37), and SurveyUSA gave the Republican a 15-point advantage (55-40) over the Democrat. Another poll conducted by Daily Kos/Research 2000 listed the contest as 51-43 in favor of McDonnell.
The Rasmussen results indicate 12 percent of voters remain undecided. Those findings are based on telephone interviews with 500 likely Virginia voters conducted Aug. 10. The poll has a 4.5 percent margin of error.
