NORFOLK

The school board this morning unanimously elected Stephen Tonelson as chairman and Ursula Rhodes as vice-chair.

It happened during the board’s summer retreat, which is under way at Selden Arcade.

And who cares that the newly

And who cares that the newly appointed chair is the son of a former high school principal! Give us more! What's his philosphy on education? What has been his leadership experience? What's his leadership style? What does he see as the challenges facing NPS? What are some changes he would like to see the board implement regarding certain policies and procedures of the district?

LET NORFOLK CITIZENS DECIDE

When is Norfolk going to get away from having city council appoint its board members so that they can carry out the city council's political agenda and let the citizens ELECT the school board! Enough is enough! We have no idea who these people are who are left to make major decisions impacting the education of our children! It's time to let us decide and vote for our school board!

Typical

No more appointed school officials in Norfolk. The law needs changing.

It's time for ELECTIONS for these self appointed despots. That's the only way for accountability to come back to Norfolk schools and students.

That will never happen. To much money at stake and no accountability.

Remember "world class education?" That was dropped real fast wasn't it?

We need a Dr. S. like in Portsmouth, and a whole new set of eyes on school board.

2008-2009 school year?

Is the paper a bit behind? Shouldn't it be 2009-2010 year?
