PORTSMOUTH
A 53-year-old city man died Monday after his sedan ran into the rear of a semi trailer in Port Norfolk, police reported.
The 7:11 a.m. crash killed Edgar R. Mansfield Jr. of the 200 block of Plover Drive, police said in a news release. His car struck the back of the truck in the 300 block of Railroad Ave., near the offramp from eastbound Va. 164, as the truck was accelerating after stopping for a red light, police said.
The collision remains under investigation, police said.
