Virginia will take a yearlong look at recreational use on wildlife management areas in the state.
The study, which includes Williamsburg, starts Tuesday under the direction of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and Virginia Tech's Department of Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences. What they hope to develop is management plans for state wildlife areas.
Part of the study will involve interviews of users of 10 of Virginia's most heavily used wildlife management areas. Other areas to be studied include Fredericksburg, Amelia County, and Rockbridge and Augusta counties.
The state owns and maintains 38 wildlife management areas totaling nearly 200,000 acres.

Another study??
Lets see they did a study on Sunday hunting. Results were majority wanted to hunt on Sundays. They did nothing with the results.
They did a study on hunting with hounds. Results were something needed to be done on some issues. They did nothing.
Now we have another study and when done what will they do with this one? Make another spiffy .pdf file to be stuck on a page at the VDGIF web site? At a time when VA is short on funds why are we spending $$$ on a study of WMAs ???
