VIRGINIA BEACH

A parent who accused two school administrators of assault and battery has been found guilty of disorderly conduct. The charges stemmed from an altercation over a cassette tape at Larkspur Middle School in June.

Kasie Snyder, whose daughter was then a seventh-grader at the school, was arrested by School Resource Officer Grant Wylie after she tried to take a tape of a special education meeting on June 11. According to police, Snyder refused to turn over the tape and was allegedly swearing in the hallway during school hours.

Snyder, in turn, filed charges against Larkspur Assistant Principal Kimberly Dailey and Special Education Coordinator Allison Jordan. She said both grabbed her as she tried to leave the meeting with the tape, leaving bruises. Both were found not guilty Thursday.

Snyder got a 90-day suspended sentence and 36 months of unsupervised probation.
