Va. Beach police officer hit by car on North Landing Road

VIRGINIA BEACH

A police officer was hit by a car shortly before 7 a.m., police said. 

The officer, who was on a motorcycle, was on 2600 block of North Landing Road when he was hit, said Margie Long, police spokeswoman. The officer did not appear to be injured, but was taken to a hospital as a precaution.  

The driver of the car was given a ticket for failing to yield the right-of-way, Long said.
