Fairfax Chamber nod goes to McDonnell
A prominent business coalition in Virginia's most populous county is backing Bob McDonnell in his quest to be elected governor.
The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce's political action committee Wednesday announced its endorsement of the Republican gubernatorial candidate, attributing its decision to his support for "pro-business" policies.
During an afternoon conference call, chamber officials said that McDonnell received their support in part because they feel he has offered a detailed transportation plan and Democrat Creigh Deeds hasn't.
News of the endorsement comes about one week after McDonnell and Deeds met last week in northern Virginia for a debate sponsored by the chamber.
