The annual Wounded Marine 5K and Kids Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday morning on the grounds of Regent University.

The kids race, free and open to children younger than 8, is set to start at 9 a.m. The 5K will start at 9:15 a.m.

Each race will start and finish at the front of Regent University and the Operation Blessing Headquarters at 977 Centerville Turnpike.

Race day registration is $25 and starts at 7 a.m. The event is a fundraiser for the Wounded Marine and Family Assistance Program, a Beach-based nonprofit that offers support to wounded Marines and their families.

Last year, close to 250 people took part in the race.
