Models take the wraps off almost-nude calendar

VIRGINIA BEACH

Models for a nearly nude senior calendar will unveil the finished product Tuesday and will be available for autographs at the Neptune Festival this weekend.

The ceremony for the "Pin-Up Boys of Atlantic Shores" will include the signing of a mayoral declaration and a ceremonial christening of their Neptune Festival Float.

Nine men between the ages of 69 and 90 from the Atlantic Shores Retirement Community posed in July for a 2010 calendar to raise money for the Princess Anne Courthouse Volunteer Rescue Squad.

The calendar features the models, wearing rolled-up shorts, as they simulate nudity with strategically placed props.

The calendar was the idea of community resident Don Reinhart, who died of cancer in June, said his daughter, Donna Reinhart-Bourgelas. She will be presented the first calendar.

Wearing bathrobes, the nine models will greet Mayor Will Sessoms and "King Neptune" - Randy Sutton, the Neptune Festival's ambassador - on Tuesday.

The models will be available for autographs at a Neptune Festival booth and will participate in Saturday's Grand Parade.

Calendars will be available for purchase at local retailers or at www.atlanticshores.com for $14.95 plus shipping and handling.
