A man reported missing early Sunday in Corolla was identified as Richard A. Snead, 60, of Pittsburgh, according to a Currituck County news release.

Snead was reported missing by his family at 12:45 a.m. Sunday in Corolla at about mile post five, Currituck spokesman Randall Edwards said in the release. The Coast Guard, the Currituck Sheriff’s Office and others conducted a search through the day Sunday.

Snead is 6-feet-4 and was last seen wearing blue and green swim trunks. Red flags were posted Saturday warning people to stay out of the surf.
