Another general manager has exited the studio.
Bill Scaffide, the general manager at WTVZ (Channel 33), left last week after three years in charge of the myNetworkTV affiliate.
"We've been gearing up for this," Scaffide said Friday, as movers were emptying his house. "It was very amicable. We left on terrific terms."
Scaffide said he's transformed the station from a money-loser to a profit-maker. "Even this year, the worst year in the history of advertising, we're going to be profitable here," he said. "I'm extremely proud of the turnaround. I put a good team in place."
An executive of Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns WTVZ, did not return a phone call Friday.
Scaffide planned to leave Saturday for West Palm Beach, Fla., where he bought a house last year. "I'm done with the 9-to-5, five-days-a-week," he said, but he may consider consulting work. "My first official duty is to buy a golf cart next week."
In July, Jim Berman was dismissed as president and general manager of WVEC, the ABC affiliate on Channel 13.
