VIRGINIA BEACH

Fire investigators arrested a 22-year-old man in an arson case that damaged seven self-storage units in September.

Joshua Hutchins of Virginia Beach faces a felony charge of arson and was being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond, a news release from the city’s Fire Department said.

Investigators said they had a video that showed two men setting the two-alarm fire at a self-storage facility in the 4600 block of Honeygrove Road. The fire was reported shortly before 5 a.m. on Sept. 24 at AAAA Self-Storage. Several units were affected – four had heavy fire damage – but firefighters had the blaze out before 6 a.m.

Hutchins’ arrest came after investigators analyzed the video footage and followed several leads, the news release said. Additional arrests may be forthcoming.
