Political experience President of North Ridge Property Owner's Association for four years.

Pressing issue "Government being more proactive than reactive." Maione said he believes that beachfront property owners, working with the town, should come together "to incur the cost of putting sand on their business properties.... Business is a risk. If I needed money to fix my business, I could not ask the taxpayers to bail me out."

 ____

Doug Remaley

Personal Married to Debbie; two grown sons.

Education Associate degree in applied science (fire protection technology).

Employment Chief fire marshal, Dare County.

Political experience Nags Head Board of Commissioners, 12 years.

Pressing issue Beach nourishment. "Nags Head will probably have to do it alone and finance this project through grants and taxes. If we lose the beach we lose our visitors and our income."

 ____

Anna Daniels Sadler

Education High school graduate, one year of nursing school, secretarial school, previously licensed for water and wastewater treatment plants, real estate broker's license with various designations.

Political experience Current Nags Head commissioner, two terms; past member Dare County Board of Commissioners; past member of Nags Head Planning Board, Board of Adjustment, Grievance Committee; past president of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Nags Head Volunteer Fire Department.

Pressing issue "Continue to work towards beach nourishment, as tourism is our economic engine and we are losing our beaches which are the backbone of this industry." Other issues include keeping high-density development out of the town and working to update current ordinances while maintaining the Nags Head history and character.

 ____

Will Woodard

Age 47

Personal Divorced; one son Leo, 13.

Education BA speech communications, UNC Chapel Hill, 1984; Ralph L. Fike High School, Wilson, N.C.,1980. Received Certified Financial Planner designation in August 2003. Licensed real estate broker, not actively practicing.

Employment Money manager and fee-only financial planner, president of Dare Capital Management LLC.

Political experience None.

Pressing issue Quality versus quantity. "Land is our most valuable asset. If we keep letting the land be built on without encouraging redevelopment of existing property, one day we're going to wake up to the Outer Banks we once knew being gone forever. I favor a 'less is more' approach, and I think a lot of voters in Nags Head feel just as I do."
