Good Bye
I cannot pick up 94.1 in the area of my house where I spend the majority of my morning. So my listening time will decrease. I only listen to it when I have nothing else to listen on 102.1. Ross you need to try 980 or 960 in the afternoon I can pick them up with some interference but that is still better than hearing Tony's interview with Phil Steele, Senator Allen or my personal favorite Burt Sugar. The Sports Reporters from 4-7 conducts a professinally produced sports radio program with nationally recognized writers and reporters and yes it is biased towards the Skins but they do not talk Skins 24-7. 94.1, what else can you say about a station that broadcasts from Foreman Field but can barely be picked up inside the stadium. Max Media should be embarrassed by this tidbit of information and work to correct it expeditiously. I hope those folks in Yorktown (nothing says sports town like Yorktown) enjoy their new station and their inept radio hosts and producers. I still don't get those who say you cannot get 1310, I have been all around Hampton Roads lisenting and never had an issue anywhere.
ESPN Radio
I have to say that I am sorry that ESPN Radio has taken over 94.1 FM which was the only decent Gospel station in Hampton Roads. Now we have no Gospel station on FM radio that comes is clearly. Sad!
Read it again finch......
"Star 1310 AM will be the home of Norfolk Admirals hockey".....
Same crappy radio station.... can't hear it anywhere.
This is Good!
Has a fan of both the Admirals and the Tides, I think this is good because I am now going to be able to listen to Pete broadcast both the teams from where ever I am in Hampton Roads versus getting spotty reception throughout the area.
so what
And this is the top story on pilotonline? I guess it's good news since there isn't any worthwhile local sports talk, now at least you can hear folks who sort of have a clue on what they're talking about. On the other hand, ESPN's topics and coverage is so slanted to New York it's ridiculous.
Just remember WHATEVER format you're listening to, music or otherwise, chances are you are probably listening to a machine. The "disc jockey" has tracked the show and the music hours ago and it's coming to you from an empty building.
Tony in Richmond
What will the listeners in Richmond think when they hear a Tony/Dave segment? How about when Tony is broadcasting from a flooring outlet and is talking about nothing relevent to sports or interesting in the least?
Seriously, does Tony get higher ratings than a nationally syndicated show?
Why can't Max Media wake up and at least realize that a young, fresh, prepared personality is what the area needs? Sure, Tony has done some great things for local sports. Vin Scully is the greatest baseball play by play broadcaster I've ever heard. But, there's a reason he doesn't call the World Series on national TV any longer. Younger, fresher voices were needed.
Lord, did I just compare Tony to Vin? God help us all!
