Outlook Lakeland finished unbeaten in the district, securing a spot in next week’s Eastern Region tournament. Kendall Combs had a hat trick and Kelsey Smither had three assists, as the Cavaliers beat Hickory 5-0 two weeks ago. The remaining region bid probably will be decided in the later semi. Western Branch comes in with a five-game winning streak. Jessica Diaz and Alex Darrow have provided eight goals apiece during that span.

Outlook Boys – Maury is going after its third consecutive title. Senior Brian Davenport, the defending individual champion, leads the Commodores. He has been one of the top runners in the state all season. Last season, the Commodores scored 17 points at the district meet, just two points short of sweep of the top five spots. Girls – Maury, the defending champion, returns its top seven runners. Booker T. will push the Commodores. Senior Leteea Henry, who is going after her fourth consecutive individual title, leads the Bookers.
