How to attend or avoid the Obama-Deeds rally

Posted to: Elections News

NORFOLK

Old Dominion University has an important message: If you don't have a class this afternoon or you're not coming to the political rally with President Barack Obama, stay away.

City and campus police will limit access to 45th and 43rd streets and Monarch Way during the event.

Traffic also will be stopped at various times along Hampton Boulevard near the campus as Obama's motorcade makes its way to the Ted Constant Convocation Center, said university spokeswoman Jennifer Mullen.

The president is stumping for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds. Campaign officials said doors will open at 2 p.m. for the event, which starts shortly before 4 p.m. Tickets have been issued, but "first-come, first-served" seating also is available.

They urge people to register for admission at www.deedsforvirginia.com.

If you are coming to the rally, Mullen said, car pool, carpool, carpool.

With today being a normal class day for the university's 20,000-plus student body, parking will be a challenge.

The university has set aside parking garages C and D next to the Constant Center for rally attendees. Spaces also will be available in the WHRO parking lot on Hampton Boulevard between 49th Street and Bolling Avenue. All other campus parking is reserved for students, faculty and staff.

I'd rather watch a strip

I'd rather watch a strip tease by Janet Reno.

Stay home and give your fish a bath.

Another Chance to Support Democracy

Wish I could be there, but the Patients, Not Profits group is going to hold a rally at 272 Bendix Road, VA Beach on Tuesday 10/28 from 11AM to 1PM. If I attend this huge gathering at ODU, I won't have enough resources left to do the other. Guess my vote will just have to suffice. :D

Do as I say - not as I do...

Since the word is out officially epidemic with the H1N1 and get your kids protected.....wonder why OB won't let his girls get the shot??

WATCH YOUR WALLET

I'd rather have lice and herpes.

Deeds has no chance to win this election

Why are you people even wasting time to see these losers?

Deeds is going to lose anyway.

Deeds is going to lose anyway. Obama has kept less than 10% of his promises. No doubt, Kaine will show up as well. Another waste of taxpayer money.
