OK, it’s cool out, so what? Who’s up for a (spiked) snow cone?
Alizé, the fruity French liqueur, is sponsoring a promotional tour that stops in Norfolk this weekend, and it wants you to “experience the lifestyle.”
“This is a total lounge experience,” says Cheryl Talley, the Alizé brand manager. “Virginia is one of our key markets, and this was a way to reach that urban female tastemaker. We wanted to push the envelope and go to them instead of having them come to us.”
On Saturday, Alizé’s 40-foot bus will park in front of Jillian’s at Waterside, where the “Alizé Academy” will merge fashion, music and pop culture.
Rap artist Izza Kizza, who is working with Hampton Roads natives Timbaland, Missy Elliott and Corte Ellis for his upcoming album, will do performances on the bus, and guests have an opportunity to audition for the second season of the online reality show “Concrete + Cashmere.” (The show, sponsored by Alizé, is at www.concreteandcashmere.com.) And there will be Alizé snow cones. Don’t forget the snow cones.
Last season, “Concrete + Cashmere” worked within the realm of fashion; this season the show is looking for music lovers, dancers, DJs, songwriters, musicians and producers to star on the show; the grand prize is $10,000 and a career “polishing pack.”
The bus appears in Norfolk on Saturday at 333 Waterside Drive from 7 to 8:30 p.m.; it returns on Monday in front of Baxter’s sports lounge at 500 Granby St. from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
