NORFOLK
Police have identified a 22-year-old as the man accused of firing shots at officers Monday night while they were searching for a robbery suspect at an apartment complex on Ashlawn Drive.
Police arrested Jervod Contae Simmons within minutes of the shooting on nearby East Little Creek Road and charged him with attempted capital murder, use of a firearm in a felony and possession of a firearm by a felon, said Master Police Officer Chris Amos, a department spokesman.
