Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the 600 block of Grimes Road.
At about 7:45 p.m. Monday, emergency dispatchers received several calls for gun shots fired in the residential neighborhood, said Cpl. Allison Quinones, a Hampton police spokeswoman. When police arrived they found one male, who appeared to be an adult, inside a vehicle and suffering a gunshot wound.
The man, described only as a 20-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement released this morning by police. His identity was being withheld until his relatives could be contacted.
Quinones said there were no other victims.
