More DNC $$ for Deeds
National Democrats plan to exceed by $1 million the $5 million they previously pledged to help Creigh Deeds and other Virginia candidates running for office this year, according to several online reports.
There is little doubt about the accuracy of the reports because they include comment from a Democratic National Committee official, and the party has sent e-mails promoting the Web articles.
The DNC, chaired by Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, had previously committed to spending $5 million on Virginia elections this year, which is the same amount the party provided to state candidates in 2005.
The Republican National Committee, meanwhile, has said it plans to spend about $7 million in Virginia to support Bob McDonnell and fellow GOP candidates this year.
