Suffolk police investigating string of robberies in southern part of city

Teens armed with guns carried out a total of 11 robberies in the southern part of the city over the last two months, and police are asking the public for help.

The robberies occurred on County Street, Carolina Road and Webb Street, according to a Suffolk news release.The robbers, ages 15 to 19 and usually in groups of two to four, were armed with either a handgun or a shotgun. In most cases, the victims were alone on the street or in a parking lot.

A business in the area was also robbed twice.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 888-Lock-U-Up.
