CROAKER

A section of Interstate 64 near Croaker has reopened after a truck overturned, spilling live crabs and shutting down the highway for about two hours.

Officials with the Virginia Department of Transportation say I-64 westbound was closed to traffic near mile marker 230 around 7 a.m. Friday after the box truck carrying the crabs flipped over and spilled its payload.

The highway reopened around 9 a.m. after state police and private cleanup crews cleared the roadway.
