Halloween revelers will get an extra hour to sleep on Sunday as daylight-saving time ends.
Clocks should be turned back one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, according to the U.S. Naval Oceanography Portal, which includes data from the U.S. Naval Observatory.
Beginning in 2007, daylight time began on the second Sunday in March and ended on the first Sunday in November, according to the page. The dates were established by Congress with the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
Hawaii and most of Arizona do not observe daylight time, according to the observatory. Indiana began observing it in 2006 when daylight time began on April 2 and ended on Oct. 29.
Firefighters across the country also remind residents to replace the batteries in their smoke detectors when daylight time begins and ends.

Came up with the idea to give farmers more daylight to work their crops
Crops
Especially the Barley, which went into making Beer (which is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.)
To understand any government action, such as
the institution and continuance of daylight saving time, you have to understand how government works.
Our rulers have one main objective in their lives...to get re-elected.
In order to get re-elected they need tons of money, which comes to them principally from SIG's, or special interest groups.
Now...what SIG would principally benefit from DST? RETAILERS!
People will shop more after work, if more daylight hours are available to them. No one loses....retailers gain....politicians get re-elected.
P.S. - DST has NEVER been proven to save energy, so don't bother replying with that shopworn and vacuous argument, thankyouverymuch.
DST
Two definitions of DST:
1. You have a blanket that's too short, so you cut a foot off one end and sew it on the other to make it longer.
2. You have a dog that's hungry, so you cut off it's tail and feed it to him.
I only wish they would have the time throught the full year. It's a major pain to reset everything from my car clock to the microwave timer.
