U2 was amazing

We literally JUST walked in the door from Charlottesville. (We sooo wish we had the energy to do "Funk Fest" tonight at ODU, which also promises to be 'da bomb.') A review of the U2 show will be online shortly; meanwhile, enjoy these pics taken by my broski Joshua Achalam.

so here's that cylindrical screen. it's amazing. their faces were spinning around.

then the screen mutated, shape shifted and dropped. we were gagging! then at times it would become see-through, change colors...it's sick. 54 tons, a million pieces, 90 feet.

here's the set. that's the screen in the center. Also, see the "legs"? inside of them, on each one, were three people suspended in chairs, moving lights manually and I think cameras too, for what is no doubt going to be a sick concert DVD/cable special. As for the actual structure itself...hmm. what was it really? a bug? a spaceship? interesting.

yeah. I know, right?

so if you look at the pics of the structure above, you'll see in the middle a kind of tall, straightened-out helix tower. this is it close up. at one point, it shot spotlights into the sky that can no doubt be seen from space...
