A 34-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday, police said.
At approximately 1:37 a.m., an officer attempted to stop Reginald M. Butler as he drove through the intersection of Princess Anne Road and Lynnhaven Parkway, but he refused to pull over, said Sgt. Brian Ricardo, a police spokesman.
After crossing Indian River Road, Butler lost control of his vehicle and went off the roadway to the right, Ricardo said.
He then over-corrected, driving off the road to the left and turning over in a resident's yard on Chilhowie Circle, Ricardo said.
Butler was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, Ricardo said.
Butler lived in the 1600 block of Handcross Way, Ricardo said.
