Virginia Beach-based Operation Blessing International is expanding its disaster relief efforts into India and Vietnam and is asking for donations.
In India, the disaster relief organization is responding to record-breaking flooding that has killed 270 people and left millions homeless.
The group is delivering emergency meals to thousands in Quang Nam province in Vietnam after Typhoon Ketsana struck. More than 3,000 emergency meals have been delivered to areas accessible only by boat. Workers also are preparing to purchase large quantities of tin to repair homes damaged by the storm.
Operation Blessing, in a news release, said it needs donations to help victims of disasters in Asia in recent weeks, including in Indonesia and the Philippines, where the group also has sent aid.
