COLERAIN, N.C.

An arrest is expected this week after a man was killed and his brother wounded by rifle fire early Sunday at a private club in Colerain.

Nathaniel Moody, 36, of Colerain, died after he was shot outside the club at 108 Lua Lane at 3 a.m. Sunday, said Bertie County Sheriff Greg Atkins.

His brother, Tyrone Moody, 35, was shot but is expected to recover, Atkins said. The killer used a rifle.

"We know who the shooter is," Atkins said.

He would not name the suspect. Investigators are still looking into the circumstances of the shooting and await results of an autopsy before making the arrest, he said.

Alcohol Law Enforcement is investigating whether the unnamed club has a liquor license, Atkins said.
