Chesapeake police investigating assault, shooting

CHESAPEAKE

Two people received minor injuries in a fight that occurred early Sunday morning in the area of Harbor North Drive and Channel Place.

Police were called to the area at about 1:30 a.m. and found that one person had been assaulted and a second shot in the leg, said Justin Tindall, a Chesapeake police spokesman.

The shooting victim was taken to an area hospital. None of the injuries were considered life threatening, he said.
