NASSAWADOX

A restaurant on Lankford Highway was destroyed this morning by fire, officials said.

The fire at The Captain’s Deck restaurant was reported shortly before 5 a.m., according to Northampton County's Emergency Medical Services department.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters from Northampton and Accomack counties responded to the blaze, which was under control by 6:35 a.m.

The restaurant is located at 7120 Lankford Hwy., according to its Web site.

There was no word shortly after 9 a.m. on the cause of the fire.
