RICHMOND
Virginia's first couple will be sharing their Thanksgiving with some needy people in Richmond.
Gov. Timothy M. Kaine and first lady Anne Holton will be serving meals at The Giving Heart's annual Thanksgiving Feast at the Greater Richmond Convention Center today.
The annual meal offers not only food, but gift bags filled with warm weather items and other small necessities assembled by volunteers.
The feast is open to everyone, but The Giving Heart says in particular it's aimed at the less fortunate, older residents and anyone spending Thanksgiving alone.

"Warm weather items"??
What are we talking about, sun screen and lip balm being given to those in need? At the end of November?
The Pilot should have presented an improved version of the Associated Press article to give us a local perspective of the impact of the Governor's effort. Happy Thanksgiving to all, regardless of our opinions and views.
You don't get it
Hello, anybody home? Kaine did not put us in this mess. Obviously you were out of the country during the past 8 years when George W. Bush was the "Decider". Well the decider ran our country into a ditch and now you want to throw stones at Kaine on Thanksgiving day for helping with the poor. No, you do not get it.
Ladles in the hands of 2 phoneys
I find it very disingenuous when politicians and their wives go to these places for nothing more than photo opportunities. Instead of donning aprons and a ladle, lets see them lifting and hauling the food from trucks into the building and actually cooking.
Buh bye Kaine
He will be out of office soon.
Kaine just does not get it.
Kaine should be spending his time finding and creating jobs for Virginian's. This guy just does not get it.
