Hertford man competing in Oprah karaoke contest

 A Hertford, N.C., plumber will compete today as one of eight semi-finalists in Oprah Winfrey’s Karaoke Challenge.

Donnie Denny’s video was chosen from about 6,000 entries, according to WVEC-TV.

Denny, who told the station he grew up in Chesapeake, will compete against hopefuls from California, New York, Wisconsin and Florida.

The first round will air live today at 4 p.m. on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Just darn it!!!!!

At 4 p.m. I have to clear the drive and walk ways of leaves and acorns and trim my nails. I’m afraid my DVR is full of game shows, Doctor Phil and Springer so I can’t record this epic. Hate to miss Ms. Oppie.
