HAMPTON

Two gates will be closed in the morning at Langley Air Force Base as a result of coastal flooding.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, access to the base will be limited through the LaSalle Avenue and NASA gates, according to a news release from the 1st Fighter Wing public affairs office. The King Street and Armistead gates will be closed.

Squadron commanders have also decided that only key and essential personnel will report to work Thursday. The Langley Child Development Center and Youth Center will be closed.

Navy should take a lesson from the Air Force

After all these years you would think the US Navy would show a little more concern for the safety of it's sailors, civilians and general public! Nooooo, let's wait till 6 AM when everybody has already left and is causing accidents rushing to work down I-64 to announce that only alpha personnel need report in.

How are we supposed to know

How are we supposed to know if we don't come to Base in the morning? I work at the main base in Norfolk.
