Los Lobos - 'Los Lobos Goes Disney'

Los LobosOK, admit it. You’ve been trapped in the car playing a CD for your children and the music has slowly driven you insane.

Who says that children’s music needs to be childish? Case in point, “Los Lobos Goes Disney,” as odd a pairing as you could imagine. But the results are surprisingly good. Remember, many of these tracks were for all audiences, not just children. And let’s be frank: You’ve sung at least one of these songs at some point in your life.

You might be surprised at how well the boys cover “Cruella De Vil” from “101 Dalmations” or “I Wanna Be Like You” from “The Jungle Book.”  Listen to their tender take on Roger Miller’s “Not in Nottingham” from “Robin Hood” or Sonny Burke and Peggy Lee’s affecting “Bella Notte” from “Lady and the Tramp.”

The band’s success with the material is its attitude; it doesn’t talk down to its audience. The music has a crisp, hip, modern, multicultural vibe. It’s a great listen, one that will catch you by surprise.
