Ionnis "Yanni" Achilleos and his new wife, Maria Koumas, weren't sure what they wanted in a new house - until they saw Beach Bay Condos.
The couple, who wed July 12, had looked at a few places in the area and online before finding what they needed.
"I drove by Beach Bay Condos and saw the models," said Achilleos, 26. "It all added up perfectly."
Achilleos said the price and location - a mile from the beach and near Interstate 64 - were ideal. They also liked that they were purchasing something new and could select interior details to make their first home their very own.
Beach Bay Condos is north of Shore Drive in Virginia Beach's Chesapeake Beach community. Three single-family homes stood on the property before Warner Construction Inc. developed it for the three-story condominium homes. Section II began last summer, 11 units sold in just 60 days.
"Beach Bay Condos are unique in their quality, which you notice as soon as you arrive," said Debbie Brown, site agent with Prudential Town Realty.
Brown is referring to the aggregate concrete driveways and upgraded front doors that potential residents can't help but notice. Each of the 27 units, built by Warner Construction has a garage and fenced backyard.
Buyers get a home with a tiled foyer and baths, a hardwood floor in the great room, a half-bath and kitchen with the choice of tiled or hardwood floors, granite countertops in the kitchen and a granite fireplace surround to match.
Each unit has a first-floor master bedroom with a full-bath and walk-in closet, two-zone heating and air conditioning, Berber carpet, stainless steel dishwasher, microwave, gas range, maple cabinets, ceiling fans and more.
"Those familiar with the area know that there are many great restaurants close by, and beach lovers will enjoy knowing that the Chesapeake Bay is right down the road," Brown said.
