Posted to: News Norfolk Storms

NORFOLK

More than 60 volunteers will participate in a “Nor’easter Community Cleanup” Saturday, removing trash and debris in neighborhoods most affected by last week’s storm.

Volunteers from more than 20 civic leagues and 150 Adopt-a-Street groups will work from 9 a.m. to noon. Their efforts are being organized by Keep Norfolk Beautiful and the Stormwater Management Divisions in the city’s Department of Public Works.

The groups will be working at DePaul Hospital from Afton Avenue through Fayton Avenue, the Hague, Harbor Park and Park Avenue, Lake Liberty Stormwater Pond on Ballentine Boulevard, Little Bay Avenue from 14th View Street to Captains Quarters, Norview Avenue at Military Highway across from Kmart, Pretty Lake at East Ocean View and Princess Anne Road at Armistead Avenue.

To volunteer or report an area in need of storm cleanup, call Susan Ash, Keep Norfolk Beautiful volunteer coordinator at susan.ash@norfolk.gov or (757) 441-1347.
