NORFOLK
A man convicted of murder, robbery, and drug and weapons charges will serve 21 years for the crimes, a judge ruled Friday.
Deonte L. Mayfield was convicted in the shooting death of 31-year-old Cleavonne Tynes, who was found with several gunshot wounds in the 300 block of E. Little Creek Road in June 2008.
A co-defendant, Donte White, is scheduled to be sentenced in January.

What if...
By Jewish law we would stone him to death...by Roman law we would crucify him...by Spanish law we would execute him within two weeks...Islamic law we would behead him...by US law...if he was a murderer and murderer only...after 10 years of litigation...we would put him to sleep with three injections that he would not wake up from...too bad he isn't Catholic during the Inquisition...we could burn him alive...killing a criminal is not for deterrance but for righteous payback...an eye for an eye
