PETA sending 'bin Laden bites' chocolates to U.S. troops

NORFOLK

Troops craving chocolate in Afghanistan could soon be eating dairy-free treats bearing the image of Osama bin Laden.

A chocolatier and longtime People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals supporter is making the special vegan chocolates for the troops after reading about how difficult it was to get chocolate in Afghanistan. The so-called “bin Laden bites” give the troops the chance to bite his head off, a news release from PETA said.

In addition to supporting the troops and protesting the Sept. 11 attacks, PETA said it also wanted to use the chocolates to protest bin Laden’s torture and killing of animals during and in the days following the World Trade Center attacks, when their guardians were killed, leaving the animals to die of dehydration, starvation or exposure to toxic fumes.

PETA will also sell the chocolates in the U.S. and use the proceeds for its free winter doghouse program and spay and neuter mobile clinics.

Ummmm...chocolate in the

Ummmm...chocolate in the desert? I used to avoid sending "melty" things in care packages when my husband was deployed to warmer climes back in the day. : -) Nice gesture, but...just sayin'...

"Branding" a Known Terrorist makes me sick to my stomach!

I thought I have seen everything - but "branding" a known terroroist who has been behind some of the most hidious killings in the world makes my stomach turn - SHAME ON YOU! When I think of our coins and currency and the branding of presidents to reflect our proud tradition and values - and then see this monster put on chocolate and sending it our troops - to the men adn women who give their lives for our freedom - WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? - Obviously, your PR people were not included in this meeting or decision process .... I have 2 sons serving over there and their sentiments are the same as mine!

Some gets posted, some don't

I submitted a post today at 6:19PM and it's send not posted, who did I offend Peta?? Gosh. we sure don't want to offend Peta when they do goofy stuff do we? Looking at the possible violations of posting, I don't see the one that covers my post.

Good Idea!

I can't remember PETA ever having a good idea before, If you want to call this a good idea. :/

Thanks but no thanks

I know I will break some hearts, I know some will not sleep tonight, I know somw will even have trouble eating their raw turnip and bean spount soup, but there are millions more people who like and respect Beck than they do PETA.... Beck only reports news and information the liberal media forgot or wouldn't tell you to those who made the choice to listen to him. Peta on the other hand tells people what they should or shouldn't eat, they like to pick and choose their issues that will attract big media, not the little stories that will gain them little attention. So back to the real issue, what should have been sent was some good ole thick steaks and fries, some pull BBQ and and BBQ ribs (Pork and Beef, lets not forget the thick grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Peta's gft to the troops is kinda like having a boss giving him or her employees each fruit cake instead of a bonus.

Chocolate for the Troops!

Here's Va. Pilot article from the other day in case some of you missed it!

We sent 3 priority boxes of REAL, HIGH CALORIE, YUMMY *AMERICAN* CHOCOLATE CANDY !!!

They don't deserve FAKE chocolate. :)

(and emailed the article to dozens of friends)

I'm thinking about having a

I'm thinking about having a PETA bread hamburger tonight. Might have a steak also. Sounds better than chocolate candy. These PETA wackos are idiots.

"Thanks for again proving your narrow-mindedness"

How true. These chocolates are a bad idea because they will create cavities and will make our troops fat. That won't go over well when they are on the public option health plan being pushed through by the Liberal Democrat Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. In fact, they might even get fined for that!

So...

would it be the same if we put a child abuser/molester, a wife beater, the DC sniper, or some other despicable person on the front of the candy? Yeah, we all have a hate for Bin Laden, but this is using his face for the wrong reason. We need to keep our eye on the prize...seems PETA's prize is profit here, and publicity. Their cause is for the animals, yet I know it would look weird if they put a dog, cat, or baby seal on the candy itself. I don't know why they couldn't just put their PETA emblem on the chocolate and call it a day. If you didn't read the article about "taking a bite out of Bin Laden", wouldn't this look like PETA is honoring him by putting his face on this rare candy? There's other ways to show support for the troops, even if it is making them dairy-free candy.

You People Are So Predictable...

If Glenn Beck had come up with this idea he would be a true patriotic American worthy of some special medal; because it's PETA you just can't stand it. Thanks for again proving your narrow-mindedness, as if anyone needed further validation.
