Portsmouth Naval Medical Center gets more flu vaccine

Portsmouth Naval Medical Center has received a limited amount of the H1N1 vaccine for beneficiaries and dependents who are in high-risk groups.

The vaccine is available on a first-come, first-served basis at immunization clinics to pregnant women, adult caregivers of infants who are under 6 months of age, children 6 months and older and young adults up to age 22. Beneficiaries need to present a valid military identification card.

The vaccine is available on a walk-in basis at the immunization clinics at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center, Sewells Point Clinic at Norfolk Naval Station, Admiral Joel T. Boone Clinic at Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base, Oceana Branch Medical Clinic, Northwest Clinic and Yorktown Naval Weapons Station.

Beneficiaries who want to be vaccinated at TRICARE Prime Virginia Beach or TRICARE Prime Chesapeake will need to make an appointment at (866) 645-4584.
