The Salvation Army and WVEC-TV have started collecting for this year's Angel Tree campaign, to provide children in need with clothes and other apparel at Christmas.
In Hampton Roads, more than 30,000 Angel Tree applications were processed – double the number of children assisted last year, according to a news release from the Salvation Army.
Anyone who would like to donate needed items may visit one of the participating locations throughout Hampton Roads where the Angel Tree tags are displayed.
After picking an Angel Tree tag, purchase at least two new clothing items and return them unwrapped to the location where the tag was picked up. All donations are due by Dec. 10.
A list of participating locations is on the Salvation Army Web site.

Missing Cities
No Portsmouth? No Suffolk? Please update the story with locations for these two cities. Thx
Portsmouth
Not sure why Portsmouth was omitted - but for Ptown residents who are interested in participating in the Angel Tree program, I know you can get a child's tag at the Wal-Mart on Frederick Blvd or at the Salvation Army office on Airline Blvd.
You can also partipate online with JCPenney at:
