The crime occurred in the early hours of Dec. 7, on the neat lawn of the Britt house as the family slumbered.
Somebody stole Jesus.
That night the ersatz infant lay in a faux manger, the centerpiece of a Nativity placed between painted plywood cut outs of Disney's Pluto and a spotted foursome from "101 Dalmatians." The next morning, it was gone.
Also missing: Belle from "Beauty and the Beast" and Bambi's buddy Thumper. Those were handmade originals, like the other cutouts that go up every December, said Debbie Britt, so she wasn't surprised that somebody would take those.
But the Christ Child?
Britt has turned to prayer. It's gone to the top of her Great Bridge Baptist Sunday school class list, where churchgoers are asked to remember soldiers and the Senate and folks battling cancer.
"PLEASE PRAY FOR WHOEVER STOLE BABY JESUS FROM THE MANGER AT THE BRITT HOUSE. They've had that baby Jesus for 25 years. Pray that whoever has it experiences such guilt and dis-ease that they have to take it back to get relief."
"Dis-ease" was a tongue-in-cheek way of saying that she hopes the thief will experience such unease that they will have to bring the baby Jesus back.

I have been a member of GBBC
I have been a member of GBBC for the majority of my life and this congregation would not condone the wishing of ill will or dis-ease to anyone. The words in quotation I assume are those of the interviewee, not a quotation from the church or its congregation even though it is written in such a way that it seems to have come from the church, very clever Mrs. Davis. What I find interesting is the public is so willing to believe anything they hear or read then react to it. Some were quick to get their jabs in at Christianity. It seems some have faithlessness in Christ yet have faith in the media and their written words. Words, which can be twisted and spun. Don’t always take the words of another as truth and fact. Many people have their own agendas and beliefs and these things add perspective to the way we as humans see the world and how the world perceives us.
Haven't you noticed that
Haven't you noticed that Jesus and George Bush are never in the same place at the same time? They're the same person!
No Worries, Folks....
Baby Jesus was just cold and stepped out to grab a Snuggie. His woodland friends probably just went with him to make sure he got the right color.
Pilot strikes again
How come the pilot opens this to comments but not the story on the hate crime that was reduced to trespassing? Is it acceptable to allow a religion to be mocked, but not acceptable to allow potentiality negativity comments about another protected class such as race?
Oh there are plenty of
Oh there are plenty of racist comments on this site. The pilot certainly doesn't shy away from them. Heck, your race baiting here will likely result in a slew of them.
Well at least its an equal
Well at least its an equal opportunity offensive site...
Apparently.

Baby Jesus? Jesus didn't
Baby Jesus? Jesus didn't materialize in the Bible till he was 33.
Maybe this baby Jesus is hiding out too.
Actually...
Jesus died at around age 33...he made his first "appearance" in the Bible as a baby when Mary "wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger". He is mentioned as a child several times (such as when Simeon got to see him after waiting for this promise for many years, and when Jesus was separated from Mary and Joseph and later found teaching the elders in the Temple)and then, of course, at the start of his ministry.

Ah, a mere mention of the Saviour of the world. Makes sense to me.}
