Richmond post-game
RICHMOND
First, let's consider the bright spots. That second-half baseline drive and finish by Trian Iliadis? Nice. And he drew a foul and completed the 3-point play to boot.
Two assists in 12 minutes from Marquel DeLancey? A dozen points off the bench from Keyon Carter?
Encouraging, for ODU fans.
But there were far more worrisome moments in ODU's 67-60 loss to Richmond Wednesday night. Gerald Lee put up just six shots. The Monarchs allowed another team to hurt them from beyond the arc, and there were other defensive lapses inside.
As we reported here, players aired things out behind closed locker room doors after the game. It's certainly far too soon for panic, but the Monarchs are running out of chances for an eye-opening non-conference win. Dayton? Georgetown?
Meanwhile, they'll begin conference play Saturday with that odd December game, against a struggling Delaware team.
"The main thing is what we stick together as a team," guard Marsharee Neely said. "If we stick together, most likely positive things will happen."

Some of the problems with this team seemed to have started when the Coach at Longwood said they were as good as The Orangemen and were a top 20 or 30 team. Someone needs to light a fire under their butt's because they are too good to be playing like they are. Maybe Jonathan Adam's was a bigger piece of the puzzle than everyone thought.
