Virginia taxpayers only have a few more hours to get square with the state when it comes to delinquent taxes.
The state's tax amnesty program began in October. It ends on Saturday.
Individuals and businesses can waive half the interest they owe and all penalties if they pay by Saturday. Those who do not pay during the amnesty period face an additional 20 percent penalty.
Tax commissioner Janie Bowen says most people wait until the last two days of the campaign to pay their back taxes. The department will extend hours for its call center until 8 p.m. and until midnight on Saturday.
Those who owe back taxes can submit filings or payments online at www.GetSquareVA.com by midnight Saturday, or by mail postmarked no later than Saturday.

And what after this?
State going to stop looking for these people? How about not giving them unemployment if they owe back taxes.....how about garnishing their wages if they are working......how about putting a lien against any property they own (which they probably don't) and how about putting a stop on renewing driver's licenses and/or vehicle registrations until they pay up.....there are ways to get $$ or have them not be able to do anything....let's get cracking Virginia!!! I'm paying my share - how about you get the rest from these deadbeats! You have databases you can access to find them - you sure would use them to find me if I was behind - so get cracking!
