A couple of Birthdays to recognize!

On this date in 1911, Alexander Solzhenitsyn was born in Kislovodsky Russia.

He won the The Nobel Prize in Literature 1970.  Check out his bio as well as his Nobel Lecture and Banquet Speech.

 

Also on this date in 1911, Naguib Mahfouz was born in Cairo Egypt.  He too was a Nobel Prize winner (1988).  Read all about him here.
