Beach man killed by suicide bomber in Afghanistan

Posted to: Afghanistan Military News

A former Navy SEAL and Virginia Beach resident was identified in the media Friday as one of the Americans killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday by a suicide bomber.

Jeremy Wise had been working as a security contractor in Khost province when he died, a memorial on the social-network site Facebook said. WTKR-TV3 reported that Wise’s neighbors in Virginia Beach said he was among those killed in the attack at Forward Operating Base Chapman in Khost.

Wise had been stationed at the SEALs’ Joint Expeditionary Base, Little Creek, in Virginia Beach before he left the Navy in 2009, said Lt. j.g. Arlo Abrahamson, a spokesman for the Naval Special Warfare Group Two at Little Creek.

Sad to hear.

Prayers for the family. As for the "we need to win this war", it ain't gonna happen. They have 3 things on thier side: Time, terrain, and our political correctness. We should level the place or not be there at all. Iraq is also a lost cause. Saddam is gone, the only thing we are doing there now is protecting American companies making blood money off this war. Time to bring our men and women home and shore up defenses HERE. God bless all who are, and have, served.

So true. I really think our government took the wrong path from day one. After 9/11 the general public wasn't in the mood for nation building, it was in the mood for revenge (just like the CIA wants now that some of their own have been killed).

We need to put country's like Yemen and all the "stans" on notice. You know there's terrorists in your country, if you don't do something about we will, and what I mean by that is not putting troops on the ground but utlizing stealth aircraft, cruise missiles, and drones to take them out no matter where they are. If they're hiding in some little village, take them out. If they're hiding in a large city, use our intelligence community and special forces to find them and take them out. Also, if these countries won't do anything about them, stop giving them our tax dollars and weapons because it seems all that's doing is funding th

RIP Navy Seal

Thank you for your naval service and continued military contibution.

In my prayers

Not much more to be said, other than we need to win this thing so these young guys lives are/were not in vain.
