Conan to sign $40 mil deal; Montag's plastic surgery

-- Conan says: Conan O'Brien is close to signing a near $40 million deal to walk away from his job as "The Tonight Show" host. The agreement with NBC would prevent him from hosting any other TV shows or bad mouthing NBC. O'Brien might also lose custody of Tirumph, the Insult Comic Dog. While Conan may agree to keep his nasty opinions to himself after he leave, it didn't stop him last night. Watch: [NY Post | USA Today | TMZ]


-- Jay says: Jay Leno told viewers last night that he had been doubtful about launching his show in prime-time all along.He said he asked to be released from his contract, but NBC told him that he was too valuable. And, despite all the nasty exchages, Leno said Conan is a good guy. "I have no animosity toward him. This is all business."  *sigh*  [AP]

-- Don't forget Letterman: A judge on Tuesday refused to throw out the criminal case against a TV producer who is accused of trying to blackmail David Letterman. [AP]

-- Heidi Montag, 23, now says she isn't addicted to plastic surgery, People reports. She just wants to be as beautiful as she can be - inside and out. *eye roll* Back in November the starlet had 10 procedures on the same day. Yeah.. she may have a problem. Probably time for an intervention. [People]

-- Maria Sharapova's dress got more criticism than her upset loss to Maria Kirilenko during the Australian Open. I guess for $70 million you have to wear what Nike gives you. [Yahoo!]

-- Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Mike Greenberg referred to Martin Luthern King, Jr. as "Martin Luther Coon" on "Mike and Mike in the Morning" on ESPN Radio. He may have jumbled the words "King" and Junior" but this will probably be a hard one to live down even after his formal apology. Greenberg is a "SportsCenter" anchor and co-host of "Mike and Mike." -- Wyclef Jean is calling for an evacuation of Port-au-Prince and defended his charity's accounting practices. An Associated Press review of tax returns and independent audits provided by The Wyclef Jean Foundation Inc. (a.k.a. The Yele Haiti Foundation) showed that it was closely intertwined with his businesses. [AP]
