FBI FRAUD ALERT

From the FBI: "Before making a donation of any kind, consumers should adhere to certain guidelines, to include the following:

* Do not respond to any unsolicited (spam) incoming e-mails, including clicking links contained within those messages.

* Be skeptical of individuals representing themselves as surviving victims or officials asking for donations via e-mail or social networking sites.

* Verify the legitimacy of nonprofit organizations by utilizing various Internet-based resources that may assist in confirming the group’s existence and its nonprofit status rather than following a purported link to the site.

* Be cautious of e-mails that claim to show pictures of the disaster areas in attached files because the files may contain viruses. Only open attachments from known senders.

* Make contributions directly to known organizations rather than relying on others to make the donation on your behalf to ensure contributions are received and used for intended purposes.

* Do not give your personal or financial information to anyone who solicits contributions: Providing such information may compromise your identity and make you vulnerable to identity theft."

VIRGINIA FRAUD ALERT

The Office of Consumer Affairs of the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services warns the public to be wary of any requests for personal information or financial support that cite the Haiti disaster as justification.

For more information, call the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Consumer Protection Hotline, toll-free in Virginia, at 1(800) 552-9963.

Dear,

Re: Haitian Earthquake Relief

Haiti is one of the world’s poorest and least developed countries. It also has
the unfortunate distinction of being the only LDC in the Americas. In spite of
this, things were improving there. Hopefully the earthquake events won’t put an
end to this hard-earned progress.

There are a number of reputable non-profit organizations currently doing relief
work in Haiti. They will surely need our support in the coming days. Please know
that we appreciate any support you can provide.

The Haiti Relief Agency UK is soliciting to individuals, companies, churches and
other organizations to help in making life better for the disposed victims.

Send any amount you can to any of the following, Thomas Smith, Ruth Sandra, Ruky
Jones, and Mike Davis, London UK either by western union or money gram.

God bless as you attend to the cry of many.

Jessica Moore
