Posted to: Elections Hampton News

HAMPTON

The Hampton University Concert Choir will perform Saturday at the inauguration of Gov.-elect Bob McDonnell.

The choir will sing between 10:30 a.m. and noon on the steps of the State Capitol in Richmond.

Hampton's choir, consisting of nearly 40 students, will perform in 20-minute sets, alternating with the 29th Army Band.

The choir's program will feature anthems and spirituals, including Roland Carter's arrangement of "Precious Lord."

The choir is the university's primary touring ensemble and has performed at Carnegie Hall, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and the 1997 inauguration of President Bill Clinton.
